Art All Night-International (AAN-I) is a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to mentor and financially support NGO's in less developed countries who wish to produce an Art All Night event in their city.

The Art All Night event is a volunteer driven, 24 hour festival that welcomes artists of any age, skill level, or medium to submit one piece of art - of their own creation - for display in a gallery-like setting. It is free to submit art and free to attend. There is no application to participate. Simply show up with your art, sign a waiver, and your art is hung. â€‹â€‹â€‹

AAN-I is funding the Community Foundation of Oaxaca (FCO) to produce Art All Night-Oaxaca once a year for the next three years. Funding will be used to pay for festival expenses and to hire an Event Organizer.

Oaxaca was chosen as a pilot city to determine if the Art All Night model can work outside of the US. Of particular interest will be to see if this volunteer-centric program can succeed in countries with volunteer cultures different from those in the US. If positive outcomes are observed, AAN-I will seek to grow the program to include cities around the world.

OUTCOMES: Third-party researchers will measure for several impacts. After participating in Art All Night-Oaxaca:

  1. Have working-class volunteers learned skills needed to advance civil society?

  2. Have working-class volunteers changed their perception on their own power to influence change?

  3. Do working-class volunteers believe they will become more involved in other causes after they stop their involvement with Art All Night?

  4. Do working-class artists feel greater empowerment due to the opportunity to express themselves?

  5. Do working-class artists feel more likely to try to show their art in public or pursue art as a career?

  6. Do attendees feel the event was an opportunity to interact with groups of people they typically would not encounter in their day-to-day lives?

  7. Do attendees feel the event served to build community by assembling people who want to improve the City, facilitating networking, or incubating new ideas?
